Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil is talking to clubs about a transfer from north London either this January or in the summer.

The creative midfielder is expected to make a decision on his future in the next 10 days. Chris Wheatley of football.london reports Ozil has been in talks with Major League Soccer side D.C. United and Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

He can leave Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of June.

"I can't talk about the clubs directly because it would be unprofessional, but generally, there is six months left on the contract and it is nothing unusual that we will talk to people about different opportunities and try to find the best option for Mesut," Ozil's agent, Dr. Erkut Sogut, told ESPN's James Olley.

"He might stay at Arsenal until the summer but he might go. Mesut's priority is to stay but you never know in football. Things can change very fast."

He added: "If we want to leave in January, I need to talk to Arsenal. If we sign for the summer, we don't need to. That's the situation. In the next 7-10 days, it will be a little clearer as now the transfer window is open, things can move faster."

Ozil was left out of Mikel Arteta's Premier League and Europa League squads for the first half of the 2020-21 campaign. He started the first 10 Premier League matches of Arteta's reign until his last Arsenal appearance on March 7, 2020.

Arsenal told ESPN that they're not actively involved in discussions with any clubs regarding Ozil.
