Hughes brothers headline USA's preliminary roster for WJHC

Team USA announced its preliminary roster for the World Junior Hockey Championship on Wednesday, with Jack Hughes, the projected No. 1 selection in the 2019 NHL entry draft, headlining the group.

Hughes will lead the team along with his older brother Quinn, a 2018 first-round selection of the Vancouver Canucks.

Oliver Wahlstrom of the New York Islanders, Josh Norris of the University of Michigan - whose NHL rights were traded to the Ottawa Senators in the Erik Karlsson deal - and Joel Farabee of the Philadelphia Flyers are among other notable first-round picks heading to British Columbia, Canada for the Under-20 tournament.

The Americans won the bronze medal in last year's competition after claiming gold in 2017.
