Team Canada made its first cuts to its world junior roster Friday morning, sending four players home to begin the trimming process prior to the tournament's Dec. 26 start date.

Raphael Lavoie of the QMJHL's Halifax Mooseheads was among those sent packing. The 18-year-old is a projected top-10 pick in the 2019 NHL entry draft, according to TSN's Bob Mckenzie.

Ty Dellandrea, who was selected 13th overall pick by the Dallas Stars in 2018, was another notable cut. He's recorded 29 points in 28 games with the OHL's Flint Firebirds this season.

Cameron Crotty from Boston University and Calen Addison from the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes were the other two players let go.

All four players are eligible to play for Team Canada in next year's tournament.
