After two seasons, the BIG3 is expanding this summer.

Having fielded eight teams since its inception in 2017, the professional three-on-three barnstorming tour co-founded by Ice Cube is adding another four teams into the mix for Year 3, including one named "Triplets."

Hall of Famer and WNBA legend Lisa Leslie will coach the Triplets.

With the increased number of teams, the BIG3 schedule will reportedly feature two game days per week, each featuring three games, according to the BIG3's Oliver Maroney. Through its first two seasons, the BIG3 featured one game day per week with all eight teams in action.

Additionally, the league is reportedly rolling back its requirements on who can play in the league, which had originally been restricted to former NBA players over 30.

The 2018 season saw the Power, coached by Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman and starring former NBA standouts Corey Maggette, Cuttino Mobley, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Chris Andersen, and Quentin Richardson, win the second title in BIG3 history.
