The Connecticut Sun's two-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas will be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon on Tuesday, the team announced.

Thomas suffered the injury while playing overseas for Czech side USK Praha, Winsidr's Rachel Galligan reported last week.

The 28-year-old averaged 15.5 points, nine rebounds, 4.8 assists, and two steals per game in the shortened 2020 season, helping pilot her sub-.500 Sun squad on a Cinderella run to Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals.

Thomas earned her first career All-WNBA Defensive Team selection, being voted to the first team for her prowess on the glass and league-leading steals per game rate last summer.
