Clark-Reese matchup most-watched WNBA game in 23 years
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese's rivalry continues to be a big draw for the WNBA.
Sunday's matchup between Clark's Indiana Fever and Reese's Chicago Sky had an average of 2.25 million viewers on CBS, drawing the largest audience of the season and becoming the most-watched WNBA game in 23 years, Jon Lewis of Sports Media Watch reports.
The contest, which marked the campaign's second meeting between Clark and Reese, peaked at nearly 3 million viewers, according to CBS Sports.
Prior to Sunday, the most-watched WNBA game of the season was Clark's debut with 2.12 million viewers.
Clark scored a game-high 23 points and added eight rebounds and nine assists as her Fever defeated the Sky 91-83 to pick up their fifth win of the season. Reese finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The rookies will square off for a third time on June 23.
