Franco Mastantuono is expected to play for River Plate at the Club World Cup before joining Real Madrid ahead of the European campaign. The midfielder, who turns 18 in August, could immediately compete for minutes in Xabi Alonso's starting lineup following the departure of club icon Luka Modric. Mastantuono has already represented Argentina's senior side.

Mastantuono was in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain, but he paused those negotiations to push through a €45-million switch to Real Madrid. He'll sign a six-year contract. (ESPN)
