Salah wins Golden Boot, equals EPL record for goal involvements in single season
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah won the Golden Boot award Sunday as the Premier League's top scorer and etched his name in history with his 47th goal contribution of the season.
The rejuvenated Egypt international ended the 2024-25 season with a league-leading 29 goals and 18 assists to help Liverpool win the Premier League, matching the all-time record for most goal involvements in a campaign in England's top division.
The 32-year-old scored against Crystal Palace on Sunday to move into a three-way tie with Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and former Manchester United forward Andy Cole for the goal contribution milestone.
Salah broke the record for goal involvements in a 38-game season with his 45th contribution, which came shortly after extending his contract in April. It took him another six games to match the all-time record, which Shearer and Cole set during 42-game campaigns.

Salah finished the season with just one goal and zero assists in his last four Premier League appearances.
However, it was a much different story in the first half of the season, when Salah burst out of the gates with 13 goals and eight assists in his first 14 games. Another 12 goals over a 14-game stretch shortly after gave him a commanding lead in the scoring race that propelled him to the fourth Golden Boot award of his career.
Salah previously won the Golden Boot in 2018, 2019, and 2022.
He's now tied with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry for the most Golden Boots in Premier League history.
In March, Salah surged into third place in Liverpool's all-time scoring list with a brace against Southampton. He trails only Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285) with 244 goals in all competitions.
While he might not catch Rush, Salah will have Hunt's mark in his sights after ending speculation over his future by signing a new contract in early April.
Salah's form was a major reason behind Liverpool's success this season as Arne Slot's squad clinched the club's second Premier League title since 2020 earlier in May. It's Liverpool’s 20th English title.
