Rhys Hoskins hit 18 home runs in his first 34 games last season, the quickest player to do so in MLB history. He also tied Joe DiMaggio as the fastest player to reach 45 RBI in just 41 games.

Despite playing in just 117 games last season, Freddie Freeman hit 28 home runs and set career highs in on-base percentage (.403) and slugging (.586). He slashed over .300/.400/.500 for the second consecutive season, becoming the third Braves player to do so in back-to-back seasons (Chipper Jones, Gary Sheffield).

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves targeted 2019 in their rebuild, but the Philadelphia Phillies hope to start seeing results this season after adding former Cy Young Award winner Jake Arrieta and first baseman Carlos Santana as free agents.
Arrieta won't pitch until at least April 8 after signing late, but the Phillies will have a young potential co-ace on the mound when they open against the Braves at Atlanta's two-year-old SunTrust Park on Thursday in Gabe Kapler's managerial debut.
