The Baltimore Orioles are exercising a whole lot of caution when it comes to the organization's biggest trade chip, Manny Machado.

After the Orioles and Texas Rangers had their game delayed Saturday because of rain, Baltimore pulled Machado in the fifth inning.

The move caused speculation that the shortstop had been traded, but the idea was squashed by a source of The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, who said Machado wasn't going anywhere just yet - the four-time All-Star was instead removed because of sloppy field conditions.

He was seen later in Baltimore's dugout wearing a sweater, according to Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com. Machado will represent the Orioles at the All-Star Game, a source told Dan Connolly of BaltimoreBaseball.com, suggesting that any deal will happen after the Midsummer Classic.

Machado is the biggest name available heading into July's trade deadline. The Orioles have reportedly been fielding a lot of offers for the 26-year-old, with the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers among the finalists.
