The Tampa Bay Rays received some bad news Saturday morning.

Right-hander Tyler Glasnow has a forearm strain and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, the team announced, according to MLB.com's Juan Toribio.

He will be shut down from throwing for seven-to-10 days.

Glasnow, who owns the lowest ERA in the American League (1.86) and was named AL Pitcher of the Month in April, left Friday's game against the New York Yankees in the sixth inning.

The 25-year-old, who is in the midst of a breakout campaign, was seen shaking his arm several times throughout Friday's contest before he signaled to the team's trainers to come to the mound.

"It's not like there was pain or anything," Glasnow said postgame. "It was just like this really strange feeling. I just thought it would be better to come out and not chance things. Feeling it for that many pitches, it was time to come out."

The Rays have won all but two of Glasnow's eight starts this season.

In corresponding moves, the Rays activated catcher Travis d'Arnaud and recalled infielder Andrew Velazquez. D'Arnaud was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

Backstop Nick Ciuffo was also optioned to Triple-A Durham.
