Rays' Snell calls quick hook in Game 6 'frustrating'

Tampa Bay Rays skipper Kevin Cash made the controversial call to remove Blake Snell despite his ace left-hander holding the Houston Astros scoreless through four innings in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series.

Snell, who had allowed the first two batters to reach with nobody out in the fifth, did not seem happy with the decision.

While heading to the dugout after giving the ball to Cash, Snell appeared to yell, "What the fuck are we doing?"

Diego Castillo wound up allowing the two inherited runners to score, plus an additional pair of runs, on three hits and one walk.

"It's just frustrating. Give me a shot," Snell said following the Rays' 7-4 loss, according to Grace Remington of CBS Tampa, adding he was confused about the move. "I want to be that guy that takes the team deep into the ballgame."

The controversial pitching change comes two days after Astros manager Dusty Baker stuck with Zack Greinke in a tough spot in the sixth inning of Game 4.

"It was nice having someone have confidence in me," Greinke said, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. "Since I've been here, they haven't seemed to have confidence in my ability. It was nice having that happen in an important time like that."

Greinke ended up getting the win in Game 4. He allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven, including a pair of key punchouts in the crucial sixth inning.
