Toronto Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette wouldn't be blindsided if he was traded.

"No. Not surprised at all," Bichette said Thursday when asked if being dealt from the only team he's ever played for in the majors would catch him off guard, according to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.

However, Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins reiterated how vital Bichette and 2021 AL MVP runner-up Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are to the team despite the club's struggles this season.

"They're really good players that are part of the solution, and all of our energy is focused on supporting them at this point," Atkins told Sportsnet 590's "Blair & Barker" on Thursday. "It's not just about this year, they're under control next year, and they've been important to the organization, and we hope they continue to be."

Bichette, 26, and Guerrero, 25, can both test free agency following the 2025 campaign.

Toronto entered Thursday's play 6.5 games out of a final wild-card spot and in last place in the AL East.
