The Philadelphia Phillies extended manager Rob Thomson's contract through the 2026 season, team president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced Tuesday, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic.

Dombrowski added that the entire coaching staff will return next season.

Thomson's deal would've expired at the end of the 2025 campaign prior to his new extension.

"I've mentioned many times this is the only place I want to be. This will be my last stop," Thomson said, according to Dan Gelston of The Associated Press.

The 61-year-old owns a 250-185 record since taking over as the Phillies' skipper in 2022. Thomson led the team to a World Series appearance that season, the 2023 NLCS, and a 2024 NL East title for the first time since 2011.

"He's done a good job for us, been a very successful manager," Dombrowski said. "There's been very few clubs in baseball that have made the postseason three years in a row. He has done that. We've been a very good club under his guidance."

Philadelphia fell short of expectations this year after losing to the New York Mets in the NLDS.
