2025 World Series odds: Dodgers favorites to repeat
Odds and data via theScore Bet and ESPN Bet
The champagne inside the visiting locker room at Yankee Stadium is still drying after the Dodgers' World Series win, but it's never too early to look ahead and see who's favored to win the 2025 Fall Classic.
The Dodgers won their second World Series in five years, defeating the Yankees in five games. Los Angeles was the favorite entering the season (+350) and remained the top choice heading into the playoffs after capturing the most wins in baseball. The only bump in the road came when the Padres took a 2-1 lead in the National League Division Series, dropping L.A.'s odds to +850 to win the World Series.
With the core of the Dodgers' roster under contract for the foreseeable future, they're unsurprisingly the favorites to repeat. But history is not on their side: the Yankees were the last team to win back-to-back World Series when they won three straight from 1998 to 2000.

After wrapping up the Yankees' first trip to the World Series since 2009, slugger Juan Soto becomes a free agent this offseason and will command a historically expensive deal. He alone could alter the World Series odds - the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, and Phillies are all expected to pursue him.
The Braves were plagued by injuries during the 2024 campaign, but they still snuck into the playoffs and have the talent to return to contender status. The Phillies sat atop the oddsboard alongside the Dodgers all season before flaming out in the NLDS. They'll likely have a similarly star-studded lineup - the one that's disappointed in the postseason the last few years - and hope next year is the year they break through. Down the NL East, the Mets are willing spenders and will look to make a splash to help build on their improbable playoff run.
The league's balance of power tilts toward the NL, but the Orioles and Astros should compete for the AL pennant again after wild-card exits.
