The New York Mets agreed to a minor-league deal with first baseman Joey Meneses, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
Financials of the pact aren't yet known, but the agreement reportedly includes a spring training invitation.
Meneses, 32, debuted with the Washington Nationals in 2022. He spent three seasons in D.C., slashing .274/.322/.408 with 29 home runs and 165 RBIs in 286 games.
He struggled to a career-low .593 OPS (70 OPS+) in 76 games last season.
The Mets are currently projected to start Mark Vientos at first base. Pete Alonso, who manned first for the Mets since 2019, is a free agent.
