The Atlanta Braves are going back to the well once again, announcing Monday they're calling up right-hander Jesse Chavez.
Chavez signed a minor-league deal with the Braves on March 23 after he was released by the Texas Rangers.
The 41-year-old first suited up for the Braves in 2010. He also pitched for them in 2021, on two separate occasions in 2022, and from 2023-24.
Chavez has thrown 221 1/3 innings across 186 appearances in an Atlanta uniform over his 17-year career.
The Braves designated right-hander Héctor Neris for assignment to make room for Chavez on the 40-man roster. Neris allowed five hits and five earned runs in two games this season.
