The Colorado Rockies beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 on Tuesday to win their first series of the season after also taking Monday's opener.

Colorado's last series victory before beating Miami in two straight games was last September against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Rockies (11-50) dropped an MLB-record 22 straight series dating back to 2024 before snapping the streak. The team already set another dubious mark with the worst 60-game start in the modern era (since 1901).

"That was big-time for the boys, to get that first series win," Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer said postgame, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. "Who would have known it wouldn't come till June? But the time is now. I'm happy for them."

Catcher Hunter Goodman hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning off right-hander Anthony Bender.

Left-hander Kyle Freeland will start Wednesday as Colorado attempts to complete a three-game sweep for the first time since May 2024.
