Blue Jays' Gausman to start Game 2 vs. Dodgers' Yamamoto
Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman will start Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Gausman has been solid this postseason, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits with nine walks and 12 strikeouts over 18 innings (three starts).
The Blue Jays haven't announced their starters for Games 3 and 4, when the best-of-seven series shifts to Los Angeles.
Rookie Trey Yesavage will get the ball in Friday's opener. The right-hander will be the second-youngest pitcher ever to start Game 1 of the World Series at 22 years and 88 days old.
The Dodgers are going with left-hander Blake Snell for Game 1 and right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2. The latter became the first Dodgers hurler since Jose Lima in the 2004 NLDS to record a complete game in Game 2 of the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers. Los Angeles is expected to go with Tyler Glasnow in Game 3 and Shohei Ohtani in Game 4.
