Rockies make Warren Schaeffer full-time manager
The Colorado Rockies are removing Warren Schaeffer's interim tag and hiring him as manager on a full-time basis, the team announced Monday.
"We're confident Warren is the right person to lead our club moving forward," Rockies president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta said in a statement.
"He has established strong relationships with our players, understands the culture of this franchise, and embodies the energy and work ethic we want on and off the field."
Schaeffer acted as Colorado's interim boss during the 2025 season after Bud Black was dismissed in May. The 40-year-old posted a 36-86 record after taking charge of the team. He is the eighth manager in Rockies history.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this team," Schaeffer said.
"My focus remains on continuing to build a strong, unified culture based on accountability, hard work, and trust. We have a group of guys who care deeply about competing the right way, and my goal is to keep strengthening those relationships while leading a team that our fans can embrace and be proud of."
Schaeffer's hire fills the last managerial vacancy in the big leagues.
