The Kansas City Royals and manager Matt Quatraro agreed to a three-year contract extension that begins in 2027 and includes a 2030 club option, the club announced Sunday.
The financial details of the deal weren't disclosed.
Quatraro was heading into the final season of his current contract.
The 52-year-old owns a 224-262 record since becoming the Royals' skipper prior to the 2023 season. He led the team to its only playoff appearance over the last decade in a 2024 trip to the ALDS.
Kansas City went 82-80 to finish third in the AL Central last season.
