Toronto Blue Jays super-utility infielder Ernie Clement was named to the roster for the United States at the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

The veteran infielder provides skipper Mark DeRosa with a versatile glove and should dramatically improve the team's defense. Clement was responsible for 22 defensive runs saved last season while playing first, second, and third base. He also ranked in the 98th percentile in range.

At the plate, Clement fared well in 2025 thanks to a solid eye and heavy contact approach. The 29-year-old was in the 97th percentile in strikeout percentage and squared-up percentage and the 94th percentile in whiff percentage, striking out just 61 times in 588 plate appearances.

The Rochester native joins a stacked USA roster that includes Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh, Bobby Witt Jr., Tarik Skubal, Paul Skenes, and more.
