Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz appeared not to know an important detail about the key player coming back to his team in the Luis Robert Jr. trade with the New York Mets.

Since acquiring infielder Luisangel Acuña in the Jan. 21 deal, Getz publicly praised the 23-year-old but has also called him a switch-hitter several times. Acuña, however, bats right-handed.

Getz jokingly issued a statement Thursday that appeared to confirm he didn't know Acuña only hits from one side.

"So, I probably have been getting carried away describing his versatility," Getz said. "He can play every position on the field. Why does it have to stop there? I called Luisangel and told him that even though he's just right-handed, we still love him."

Acuña is the younger brother of Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr.
