Report: Guardians agree to minor-league deal with Hoskins
The Cleveland Guardians agreed to a minor-league deal with first baseman Rhys Hoskins, according to Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com.
Hoskins will earn a base salary of $1.5 million if he makes the big-league club.
The 32-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers, hitting .223/.314/.418 with 38 home runs and 125 RBIs in 221 games.
Hoskins posted a .749 OPS (108 OPS+) with 12 homers in 90 games last season after hitting 26 home runs in 131 contests in 2024. He owns a .882 career OPS against left-handed pitching.
Hoskins grades as a below-average defender at first base, where Kyle Manzardo is expected to start for the Guardians. Hoskins accrued minus-6 defensive runs saved at first throughout his career.
Cleveland is attempting to win its third straight AL Central crown.
