Report: Mets agree to minor-league deal with Pham
The New York Mets are bringing in a veteran presence to the organization, agreeing to a minor-league deal with outfielder Tommy Pham, a source told ESPN's Jorge Castillo.
Pham will earn $2.25 million if he reaches the majors and has an opt-out clause in his contract should he not be on the Mets' big-league roster by April 25, adds Castillo. Additionally, he could reportedly make up to $850,000 more through performance-based incentives.
Pham spent 2025 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, slashing .245/.330/.370 with 10 home runs and 52 RBIs in 120 games. He appeared in 117 contests in the outfield last season, recording five defensive runs saved as a left fielder.
The 38-year-old owns a career .766 OPS and has performed well against left-handed pitching (.802 OPS) throughout his 12 big-league seasons.
Pham provides the Mets with additional outfield depth behind Juan Soto, Luis Robert Jr., Carson Benge, and Tyrone Taylor.
