Rafael Fiziev will not fight Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC Rio on Oct. 11 due to an undisclosed injury, Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting reports.
There's no word on whether Oliveira will get a new opponent, Cruz adds.
The October event in Rio de Janeiro was promoted as Oliveira's first fight in his home country since March 2020.
The 35-year-old Brazilian is trying to get back in the win column after suffering a first-round knockout loss to Ilia Topuria for the vacant lightweight title at UFC 317 in June. Oliveira is 2-3 over his last five fights.
Fiziev most recently defeated Ignacio Bahamondes in June to snap a three-fight losing streak.
