Blazers' Curry isn't focused on family affair

The Currys made NBA history Tuesday night when the two squared off in a conference final, becoming the first brothers to do so.

While it was a feel-good moment for Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry and Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry, the former is doing his best to distance himself from his family, recently turning down a dinner invitation from his sister-in-law Ayesha the night before Game 1.

"I was just with the team, preparing for the game," Seth said, according to The Athletic's Sam Amick. "Everybody was at Steph’s house, and I’m in San Francisco. Nah, I’m not in the mood (for a family get-together). I’m definitely not in the mood … I respectfully declined."

Seth acknowledged it was "weird" lining up against his older brother, but is also cognizant of the unique opportunity he has.

"Coming into the season, one of my goals was just to get to the playoffs, to experience the playoff atmosphere for the first time because I’ve never done it," he said.

"But to be able to get to the third round as my first chance, and getting consistent minutes, I’m living in the moment and not taking it for granted at all. I’m grateful to be here, on a good team, and trying to keep it going."

Seth struggled against the Warriors, scoring three points on 1-of-7 shooting. He's averaging 5.2 points per contest off the bench and shooting 40 percent from distance during his first postseason.
