He was also a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, which is annually given to the top point guard in college basketball.</p><p>"I don't think Kingston's a top-10 pick. I think he's a top-five pick," Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson told reporters, including <a href="https://x.com/ChrisYBaldwin/status/2045934880370868720?s=20">Chris Baldwin of PaperCity Magazine</a>. He averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, 6.1 boards, and 1.2 steals across 60 appearances.</p><p>James surpassed Robert Parish for the most regular-season games played and leapfrogged Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the league's all-time lead in field goals made.</p><p>The Lakers will have home-court advantage for their first-round series against the Houston Rockets, which begins Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.</p>

<p>Cleveland Cavaliers center <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/53393" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/53393">Jarrett Allen</a> admits he's still dealing with a knee injury that sidelined him for 10 straight games in March.</p><p>"A little pain," Allen said of the ailment Thursday, according to <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2026/04/cavs-jarrett-allen-continues-to-manage-lingering-knee-pain-ahead-of-2026-nba-playoffs.html">Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com</a>. "It's not going to go away immediately. That's something that's going to have to linger for a while. It's enough where I can play at a high level, I believe."</p><p>Sources characterized the injury as severe tendinitis, according to Fedor. It initially flared up March 3 against the Detroit Pistons.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>With the Cavs locked into the East's fourth seed, the team also held Allen out for three of its final five regular-season contests. Allen says the additional rest helped, but he doesn't anticipate his knee will be back at full strength anytime soon.</p><p>"I'd be lying if I said I would expect it to be 100%," Allen said. "I don't think anybody will be 100% going into the playoffs. That's just how it is. That's my very political answer to not give you a yes or no.</p><p>"But I think it's definitely something I'm going to have to deal with and manage. Get treatment before and take the medicine that I'm supposed to to try to be at my best."</p><p>Allen enjoyed another solid campaign for the Cavs, averaging 15.4 points, 8.5 boards, 1.8 assists, and one steal across 56 appearances. He ranked fifth in the Association in field-goal percentage (63.8%) and 10th in total rebound percentage (17.2%). Cleveland scored 3.5 more points per 100 possessions with Allen on the floor.</p><p>The Cavaliers will take on the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs. Game 1 tips off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.</p>

You know the only thing he wants is a ring!"</p><p>A qualified game requires a player to log at least 20 minutes, but they can count a maximum of two games where they play just 15-20 minutes.</p><p>Doncic averaged 33.5 points to capture his second scoring title in three seasons. He now has a chance to earn his sixth All-NBA selection and an outside shot at MVP.</p><p>Cunningham averaged 23.9 points on 46.1% shooting and finished second to <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37604" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37604">Nikola Jokic</a> in assists per game (9.9). The former No. 1 overall pick is seeking his second consecutive All-NBA nod.</p>

He played just five minutes and was promptly ruled out for the remainder of the game due to back spasms.</p><p>Detroit diagnosed Cunningham with a collapsed lung two days later and provided a minimum two-week recovery timeline.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Pistons went 8-3 during his absence and clinched the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed for the first time since 2007.</p><p>The 24-year-old earned his second straight All-Star nod in February. He's averaging 24.5 points, 9.9 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals this season.</p><p>Detroit is scoring 8.9 more points per 100 possessions with Cunningham on the floor.</p><p>Cunningham is ineligible for individual awards, such as MVP and All-NBA honors, as he'll fall short of the 65-game threshold.</p>

"We love taking money from players. Keep fining the teams. I've seen two fines. ... As players, they snatch that money in a heartbeat. Why isn't it the same? "If my math serves me correctly, that's 10 that ain't been fined. Just some quick math. It could be wrong, so don't judge me if it's wrong.</p><p>"But we don't keep that same energy when it comes to teams, when it comes to officials, when it comes to everybody but players, we don't keep that same energy. But this is a players' league."</p>

<p>Chicago Bulls CEO Michael Reinsdorf cleaned house Monday, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3516360" href="https://thescore.com/news/3516360">dismissing</a> executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley.</p><p>However, Reinsdorf doesn't want to make a change at head coach.</p><p>"We want Billy (Donovan) to continue to be the (head) coach of the Chicago Bulls," Reinsdorf told reporters Tuesday, including <a href="https://x.com/JamalCollier/status/2041608143298232638?s=20">ESPN's Jamal Collier</a>.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Donovan has spent the past six seasons in the Windy City, posting a 224-254 record. The Bulls made the playoffs during his second campaign in charge, but they haven't been back since 2021-22.</p><p>Chicago signed Donovan to a multi-year extension in July 2025, though the term and financial details are unknown.</p><p>The 60-year-old was <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3515772" href="https://thescore.com/news/3515772">reportedly</a> open to coaching North Carolina next season before the Tar Heels hired Michael Malone instead.</p><p>Donovan achieved great success at the collegiate level before making the jump to the NBA. He was one win away from becoming the first non-UCLA player and 10th player overall to capture three national championships, according to <a href="https://x.com/JoshDubowAP/status/2041271683504599329?s=20">Josh Dubow of The Associated Press</a>.</p><p>Despite coming up short against Michigan, Karaban takes pride in what he accomplished in a Huskies uniform.</p><p>"I'm just reminding myself right now that when I came into UConn how much I've grown, and I'm ultimately leaving UConn in a better place right now from where I started," Karaban said.</p><p>"I gave it everything I got. I gave it my heart. Now that I'm leaving and for UConn to be one of the best brands in college basketball and to be at the top, I left it better than when it started. I'm most proud of that."</p>
