Report: Korean Basketball League cancels season
South Korea's professional men's basketball league (KBL) has canceled the remainder of its 2019-20 season due to safety concerns stemming from the coronavirus pandemic, a source told ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
Officials representing the league's 10 teams reportedly met Tuesday to decide whether play would resume March 29 as originally planned. They agreed against a return to action.
The KBL has been suspended since Feb. 29.
Japan's B League recently resumed its season, only to postpone the campaign for a second time shortly thereafter. One contest was canceled prior to tipoff because three players recorded fevers, while another tilt was called off with an official feeling ill.
The Chinese Basketball Association, which features a handful of ex-NBAers, is tentatively scheduled to resume play on April 15.
