Report: Nets GM Sean Marks returning next season
Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks will be back for the 2024-25 campaign, reports Brian Lewis of The New York Post.
Marks has held his current position since joining the organization on a four-year contract in February 2016.
His notable moves include trading for James Harden, the draft selections of Jarrett Allen and Nic Claxton, and the free-agent signings of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Marks will also be involved in Brooklyn's search for a permanent head coach alongside team owner Joe Tsai, sources told Lewis.
The Nets dismissed Jacque Vaughn in February following a 21-33 start to the season and named Kevin Ollie interim head coach.
"Joe and I have always been in complete partnership," Marks said, according to Lewis. "And it doesn’t mean we always agree. I mean, you have to have good discussions and robust discussions, but Joe and I will make this decision, and he has given me no reason to believe that I won't be able to make that decision.
"By the end of this, I have no doubt that we'll come and find the best person fit for this job."
Brooklyn will miss the postseason this year after making five consecutive playoff appearances. The Nets sit 11th in the East with a 32-49 record, with just one game remaining in the regular season.
