Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton has not been cleared for five-on-five practices as training camp approaches, sources told NBA insider Chris Haynes.

The Bucks are taking a cautious approach with the veteran, and the expectation is that he will participate in most camp activities, Haynes added.

Middleton underwent arthroscopic surgeries on both ankles in July. The 33-year-old suffered a left ankle sprain in February, but appeared in 18 regular season and playoff contests after the injury.

Over the last two seasons, the veteran has played in 88 games and has had his playing time reduced due to injuries, averaging just under 26 minutes per contest. The 33-year-old's scoring average has also dropped over that span - averaging 15.1 points in comparison to a career mark of 16.9 points.

This is head coach Doc Rivers' first training camp with the team after he took over for former bench boss Adrian Griffin in January.

The Bucks open the season on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 23.
