<p>Philadelphia 76ers center <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/31932" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/31932">Joel Embiid</a> believes he needs to take care of his knee to return to his MVP form.</p><p>"The way I was playing a year ago is not the way I'm playing right now," Embiid said after Thursday's 124-104 loss to the Boston Celtics, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/43946569/sixers-joel-embiid-not-dominant-due-ailing-left-knee">ESPN's Tim Bontemps</a>. "It sucks. ... I probably need to fix the problem, and then I'll be back at that level. But it's hard to have trust when you're not yourself."</p><p>He added that the All-Star break helped "a little bit" to rest his knee. </p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"I'm OK," he said. "Still managing it. Got to keep going and hope for the best."</p><p>Embiid recorded 15 points on 3-of-9 shooting, along with four assists and three rebounds. He was a minus-20 in 27 minutes of action - no Sixers starter recorded a better plus-minus than minus-15.</p><p>The 30-year-old has played 18 games this season, averaging 24.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. He's suited up for at least three consecutive contests on three occasions this campaign.</p><p>"I'm not as dominant as I was a couple of months ago, but that doesn't mean I still can't have a lot of impact on the game," Embiid said. "Just me being out there, I think, helps a lot. My presence, my ability to attract double-teams, get guys more shots."</p><p>The Sixers rank 11th in the East with a 20-35 record, 1.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the last play-in tournament spot in the conference. They take on the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.</p>

<p>San Antonio Spurs All-Star <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/110276" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/110276">Victor Wembanyama</a> is expected to miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, the team announced Thursday.</p><p>The condition was discovered when Wembanyama arrived back in San Antonio after All-Star Weekend in San Francisco, the team said. The Spurs were concerned because the 21-year-old had been experiencing low energy recently, a source told <a href="https://x.com/sam_amick/status/1892638187018977655">The Athletic's Sam Amick</a>.</p><p>Wembanyama, the favorite for Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 46 games this season. He's led the league in blocks in back-to-back years, recording 3.6 and 3.8 per game, respectively.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Spurs believe the blood clot is an "isolated condition," reports <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1892632494475710582">ESPN's Shams Charania</a>. They are optimistic that Wembanyama will recover fully in time for next season, a team source told <a href="https://x.com/espn_macmahon/status/1892635236023841212">ESPN's Tim MacMahon</a>.</p><p>Spurs officials delivered the news to players in a meeting before shootaround, veteran <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/314" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/314">Chris Paul</a> told <a href="https://x.com/tom_orsborn/status/1892647408892334383">Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News</a>.</p><p>"It was tough more than anything, I think, for all of us, knowing how much he means to the game and how much he loves to play," Paul said.</p><p>The Frenchman won Rookie of the Year last campaign, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. </p><p>San Antonio is already without head coach Gregg Popovich, who suffered a mild stroke in November. The 76-year-old has been recovering away from the team. </p><p>The Spurs are 12th in the Western Conference with a 23-29 record. They take on the Phoenix Suns later Thursday.</p>

They lost back-to-back first round series, and Antetokounmpo missed all of the 2024 postseason due to a calf injury.</p><p>Antetokounmpo said in 2023 that he would leave the Bucks if there was a "better situation" for him to win another title.</p><p>The forward signed a three-year, $175.4-million extension in 2023. He holds a $62.8-million player option for the 2027-28 season.</p>

Doncic inbounded the ball to the NBA icon on the final possession.</p><p>"He had it going, so obviously we're going to go to him," Doncic said, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/43931245/lakers-lebron-james-luka-doncic-say-clutch-roles-go-ways">ESPN's Dave McMenamin</a>. "I think it will go both ways. One time it's going to be him, one time me. The duo appeared in two contests against the Utah Jazz before the All-Star break. In 61 minutes, they have a 12.6 net rating, according to <a href="https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/advanced?slug=advanced&amp;GroupQuantity=2&amp;TeamID=1610612747">NBA.com</a>.</p><p>Doncic recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in the defeat. He's returning to form after missing time with a calf injury.</p><p>"Obviously, it's going to take a little time," Doncic said. "Today, a lot of rustiness for my part. Started the game with like four or five turnovers. That can't happen. So just got to play basketball the right way."</p><p>The Lakers rank fifth in the Western Conference with a 32-21 record. They face the Portland Trail Blazers on the second night of a back-to-back Thursday.</p>
