<p>Brooklyn Nets forward <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37658" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37658">Cam Johnson</a> addressed his ongoing trade speculation, saying he wants to stay with the franchise.</p><p>"I want to build this," Johnson told <a href="https://hoopshype.com/lists/top-nba-trade-candidates-for-the-2024-25-season/">HoopsHype's Michael Scotto</a>. "I really like coach (Jordi Fernandez). I like our staff. I think we're headed in the right direction. I can't tell them exactly what to do and how to proceed. The business will do what the business does. I don't take it personally either way."</p><p>Johnson added, "I'm invested in what we have. It's been exciting to find progress and to see the potential. I want to be here and get this thing really turned around and back to winning basketball. I think we have the group to do it, and I think we have the assets and pieces to do it. Whatever they decide, no hard feelings."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Johnson has been on fire this season, averaging 18.1 points on 49% shooting from the field, along with 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists. The 28-year-old is also in the top 10 for made three-pointers, knocking down 65 shots from deep across 21 games.</p><p>With three years still left on his contract, Johnson entered the campaign seen as a trade candidate for the rebuilding Nets. However, Brooklyn has been more competitive than expected, going 9-13 over the season's first quarter.</p><p>The Nets acquired Johnson in the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/345" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/345">Kevin Durant</a> blockbuster trade during the 2022-23 season. Brooklyn parted ways with the other big player from that deal, sending <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37879" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37879">Mikal Bridges</a> to the crosstown rival New York Knicks over the offseason.</p>

Following seven seasons in Utah, Millsap joined the Atlanta Hawks as a free agent in 2013. The 39-year-old earned an All-Star nod in all four campaigns he played with the Hawks, averaging 17.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Atlanta reached the playoffs every season during Millsap's tenure, including winning a franchise-best 60 games in 2014-15.</p><p>Millsap also spent three campaigns with the Denver Nuggets and one year with the Brooklyn Nets.</p><p>Over 16 seasons, he averaged 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and a block.</p>

<p>The Los Angeles Lakers announced Tuesday that forward <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/60415" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/60415">Jarred Vanderbilt</a> developed an effusion in his left knee while rehabbing from a foot injury, according to <a href="https://x.com/DanWoikeSports/status/1864008420971409903">Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times</a>.</p><p>The Lakers are targeting an early January return for Vanderbilt.</p><p>Vanderbilt suffered a foot strain in February of last season, eventually causing him to miss the remainder of the campaign. He played 29 games in 2023-24 after missing the first 20 games due to heel bursitis.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The 25-year-old has played 55 regular-season games for the Lakers after joining the franchise in a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves in 2023. He averaged 7.2 points and 6.7 rebounds during the regular season, eventually helping Los Angeles reach the Western Conference finals.</p><p>Vanderbilt signed a four-year, $48-million contract extension with the franchise during the 2023 offseason.</p><p>The Lakers have dropped five of their last seven contests. They're now eighth in the West with a 12-9 record.</p>

It's not overthinking the game too much, because then you'll start making other mistakes.</p><p>"It's one of those things where it's just missing shots. I don't really look at it no more than that. "But I think the beauty of his game is he’s still able to make an impact."</p><p>The Heat rank seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 9-10 record. Over 40 seasons, his Huskies have won 11 national championships and produced legendary players, such as Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, and Maya Moore - who were in attendance Wednesday.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"No amount of championships and no amount of numbers or awards can take the place of the lives that we've impacted, that they've allowed us to impact," Auriemma said postgame, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/42514183/uconn-huskies-women-basketball-coach-geno-auriemma-sets-ncaa-wins-record">ESPN's Alexa Philippou</a>. "That, to me, is the strongest part.</p><p>"When it's over, whenever it is, what we'll remember is tonight, and I'll remember each and (every) one of my players that I've ever coached ... I don't know how much I helped them get what they wanted, but they helped me get everything I wanted."</p><p>The record previously belonged to longtime Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer, who retired months after setting the benchmark. Former Duke bench boss Mike Krzyzewski holds the men's record with 1,202 victories.</p><p>"This is yet another outstanding milestone in a career filled with them for Geno Auriemma," VanDerveer said, according to Philippou. "The level of success he has maintained at UConn over four decades will never be duplicated. But his tremendous legacy extends far beyond any number of wins.
