Pacers center James Wiseman left Indiana's season-opening contest against the Detroit Pistons with a left calf injury, the team announced Wednesday.
He won't return.
The big man appeared to suffer the injury at the end of the first quarter after attempting a triple. Wiseman turned to run back on defense before looking down and grabbing his left leg. The former No. 2 overall pick was then helped off the floor by his teammates.
Wiseman was making his Pacers debut. He tallied six points and one rebound in only four minutes.
Wiseman, 23, signed a two-year, $4.7-million deal with Indiana over the summer. The contract includes a team option for 2025-26.
