Doncic sidelined at least 1 week with wrist sprain
Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic will be re-evaluated in one week after suffering a sprained right wrist in Tuesday's 132-91 NBA Cup win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the Mavericks announced.
The 25-year-old will miss Friday's NBA Cup matchup against the Denver Nuggets. He is also likely to miss back-to-back road games against the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks on Sunday and Monday.
Doncic had his wrist wrapped while speaking to reporters after Tuesday's blowout victory. He said the discomfort worsened as the game progressed after initially feeling it in the first quarter, though he didn't consider it a serious issue. He played a team-high 30 minutes in the win, scoring 25 points with five rebounds five assists, and three steals.
The five-time All-Star is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in 14 games for the 8-7 Mavericks.
