The Oklahoma City Thunder are acquiring center Daniel Theis and draft compensation from the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

The Pelicans are sending the Thunder a second-round pick in 2031, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

New Orleans gets below the luxury tax with the trade, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Theis is averaging 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game.

The journeyman center has played with six teams in eight seasons but spent the majority of his career with the Boston Celtics. He's also played with the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Theis holds career averages of 7.1 points and 4.7 rebounds.

OKC adds another depth option behind Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Jaylin Williams. Holmgren played 10 games before suffering a pelvic fracture, while Hartenstein's missed 20 contests this season due to hand and calf injuries.

Oklahoma City is first in the Western Conference with a 39-9 record, while New Orleans ranks 12-38.
