Jokic posts first 30-20-20 game in NBA history
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic became the first player in NBA history with a 30-20-20 stat line, recording the feat in Friday's 149-141 overtime win over the Phoenix Suns.
Jokic finished the contest with 31 points, 21 rebounds, and 22 assists for the monstrous triple-double.
"It's gonna be nice to go finish my career, on my couch, and think I had a really good game," Jokic said postgame.
The three-time MVP reached the 30-20-20 milestone by finding forward Michael Porter Jr. for a dunk with 1:18 left in overtime.
Jokic's 22 assists are the most ever in a game by a center, and they are the most dimes ever recorded in a 30-point triple-double, according to StatMuse.
"I can't describe him, so don't ask me to," Nuggets coach Mike Malone said postgame, according to Action Network's Matt Moore. "When you're one-of-one in this league, with the great history of this league, that says something."
The Suns sent the game to overtime after Kevin Durant splashed in a buzzer-beating three. Phoenix was down by as much as 21 before storming back.
Durant put up 29 points in the losing effort. Devin Booker led all scorers with 34.
The Nuggets moved to 41-22 with the victory, keeping them in third in the Western Conference.
