Anthony Davis could be returning soon.

The Dallas Mavericks star is aiming to return from his adductor strain either Tuesday against the New York Knicks or Thursday versus the Orlando Magic, NBA insider Marc Stein reports.

Davis is officially listed as doubtful Monday against the Brooklyn Nets, an upgrade from his previous designation of out.

The 32-year-old has missed Dallas' last 16 contests after getting hurt against the Houston Rockets in his Mavericks debut. Davis recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks before leaving the contest.

Since Davis' injury, the Mavs have gone 3-13 - including a pair of losing streaks, one of which lasted four games while the other lasted seven. Kyrie Irving and Olivier-Maxence Prosper also went down with season-ending injuries while Davis has been on the mend.

Dallas only had eight available rotation players for three contests in March.

The Mavericks rank 11th in the Western Conference with 11 games left in the season.
