The NBA is looking into Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant after he appeared to give the Golden State Warriors' bench a finger gun motion during Wednesday's contest, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon.

The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter during a stoppage in play.

As Morant made his way back to the bench for a timeout, he gave a gesture to the Warriors' bench, prompting a response from Golden State guard Buddy Hield.

The NBA will also look into Hield's reaction to Morant, sources told Charania, who added that league officials will speak to the parties involved as soon as Wednesday.

Morant and Hield were assessed offsetting technical fouls.

The NBA has twice previously suspended Morant for flashing a gun on social media.
