The Philadelphia 76ers opted for Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe with the third overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday.
Edgecombe, 19, had a stellar season at Baylor, earning Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Big 12 second team. He guided the Bears to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to eventual Final Four side Duke.

The Bahamas international is able to play either guard role. He's known for elite athleticism and is considered one of the most explosive players in this class. He's also displayed a knack for performing at the defensive end and is able to guard multiple positions while disrupting passing lanes. Edgecombe could also quickly become one of the best shot-blocking guards in the NBA.

The two players benefit from top-tier physical frames and athleticism, are blessed with quick first steps, and can thrive around the rim or as pop-up shooters.
