Jalen Green's debut with the Phoenix Suns will have to wait.

The fifth-year guard is out at least 10 days after re-aggravating his left hamstring injury during the team's preseason trip to China, Suns head coach Jordan Ott told reporters Tuesday, including Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

Green will miss Phoenix's first two regular-season contests under the timeline provided. He has yet to suit up for the club after initially injuring his hamstring during training camp.

"We all know the soft tissue injuries are really hard to see exactly the progress," Ott said. "Obviously it's frustrating, but this is all part of it. Thankfully we caught it early. It's not that serious, but he wants to be out there.

"New teammates, new system. There's just other ways. We're going to have to speed him up. That's the reality of it. He did a great job in the China trip hanging in there with us."

The Suns acquired Green from the Houston Rockets this offseason as part of the Kevin Durant blockbuster deal. The former No. 2 overall pick is expected to start alongside Devin Booker in the team's backcourt.

Green averaged 21 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists across 82 appearances last season. He's under contract for at least two more seasons and holds a $36-million player option for the 2027-28 campaign.
