Pacers extend Nesmith on 2-year, $40.4M deal
The Indiana Pacers and forward Aaron Nesmith reached an agreement Monday on a two-year, $40.4-million contract extension, his agent told Shams Charania of ESPN.
Nesmith, whose contract was set to expire after the 2026-27 season, is now reportedly tied down through 2028-29.
The new deal also contains a trade kicker, Charania adds.
The 26-year-old played a key role in Indiana's run to the Finals in June. After averaging 12 points and shooting 43.1% from three through 45 regular-season games, Nesmith improved to 12.7 points per contest and 49.2% from distance while starting all 23 playoff outings for the Pacers. His postseason 3-point percentage set a new record among players with at least 100 attempts in a single playoff, overtaking the 48.2% put up by Danny Green during the San Antonio Spurs' trip to the Finals in 2013.
Nesmith is entering his fourth campaign with the Pacers after spending the first two years of his career with the Boston Celtics. He's averaged 11.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while posting 47.3/40.2/83.3 shooting splits in 190 appearances with Indiana.
