Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant will miss at least three weeks because of a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, the team announced Saturday.

The injury will keep Morant - who's been the subject of trade rumors for the last month - sidelined beyond the Feb. 5 trade deadline.

Morant apparently sustained the injury during the Grizzlies' home loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. It's unclear when or how it happened, although nothing appeared to be amiss during that contest. He scored 23 points in nearly 30 minutes of action against Atlanta, and missed a potential game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer.

However, Morant ended up missing Friday's loss to New Orleans because of the ailment.

The elbow issue continues an injury-plagued season for Morant, who's played in just eight games since Nov. 15 because of a lingering calf issue. Morant only returned from that ailment six days ago.

The 26-year-old has averaged 19.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game across 20 contests in 2025-26.
