Oregon has added another name to its already impressive recruiting class.

Four-star prospect Addison Patterson has committed to play for the Ducks this fall, he announced Sunday.

The shooting guard was ranked 31st on the ESPN 100 for 2020 before reclassifying for the upcoming season.

Arizona State, USC, and Illinois were also in the running for the top-rated Canadian.

"My parents always encouraged me to keep challenging myself and never be comfortable," Patterson told Elias Sbiet of Northpolehoops.com. "So when I was making my decision whether to stay (in 2020) or reclass, I just thought, 'Would I be comfortable or would I want to challenge myself?'

"(Oregon head) coach Dana Altman trusted me to come in and make an impact this year. So I trusted myself and I'm going to challenge myself."

Oregon has a history with Canadian players, as it also recruited Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies, Chris Boucher of the Toronto Raptors, and Dylan Ennis of AS Monaco.

Patterson's decision comes less than a week after the Ducks received a commitment from five-star center N'Faly Dante, who also reclassified from 2020. Oregon's 2019 class is headlined by five-star power forward C.J. Walker.

Patterson was a key member of Canada's silver-medal squad at the 2018 FIBA U18 Americas Championship, averaging 14.5 points, 5.8 boards, and 2.5 assists per contest. Most recently, he was one of 19 athletes selected to attend Canada's senior team training camp ahead of exhibition play and the FIBA World Cup

The Milton, Ontario native had a strong year for Team WhyNot on the Nike EYBL circuit, posting 16.5 points on 53.3 percent shooting from the floor.
