UConn, Purdue, Houston, UNC get top NCAA seeds

Conference tournaments are complete, brackets have dropped, and madness is officially here.

UConn was announced as the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament during the bracket reveal on Selection Sunday. The defending national champion Huskies will stay close to home in the East Region after claiming their first Big East Tournament title since 2011 with a comfortable win Saturday over Marquette.

Houston grabbed one of four No. 1 seeds for the second year in a row, this time topping the South Region despite falling in the Big 12 Tournament title game Saturday. Purdue is also another repeat No. 1, as the Boilermakers snagged the top spot in the Midwest. The final top seed went to North Carolina, with the Tar Heels headed to the West Region after winning the ACC regular season.
