Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said Tuesday that the Rebels haven't established a deadline for him to make a decision about his future.

The coach's comments come after a report surfaced Monday saying Ole Miss wants Kiffin to decide his coaching future before the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State on Nov. 28.

"That's absolutely not true," Kiffin said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "There's been no ultimatum, anything like that at all. I don't know where that came from, like a lot of stuff that comes out there. Like I said, we're having a blast. I love it here."

Kiffin has generated interest from multiple schools with head coaching vacancies and is considered a top candidate at Florida and LSU.

Though the coach denied a deadline, Ole Miss officials are pressing Kiffin and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, for a resolution, and athletic director Keith Carter has asked him to make a decision by this weekend, sources told ESPN's Mark Schlabach.

Carter reportedly wants to be prepared for the postseason and a potential coaching transition before the College Football Playoff, should Kiffin leave.

Kiffin has coached the Rebels to a 10-1 record this season with only one regular-season game left. The 50-year-old is 54-19 since joining the team prior to the 2020 season.

Florida and LSU are among the top vacancies this coaching cycle, along with Penn State and Auburn.

Kiffin's ex-wife, Layla, and family members have visited Gainesville, Florida, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in recent days, sources told Schlabach. Ole Miss officials have reportedly told Kiffin that the Rebels would match any contract offer Florida and LSU might make.

Kiffin has an annual salary of $9 million with potential bonuses worth another $2.6 million.
