Report: Lions' Johnson enticed by Bears' coaching job
Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is intrigued by the Chicago Bears' head coach vacancy, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
Johnson is expected to be a top candidate during the upcoming hiring cycle.
The 38-year-old has run the Lions' offense for the past three seasons, with the unit ranking in the top five in scoring and yardage in each of those years. Detroit's 32.9 points per game this campaign ranks first in the NFL, while the team is averaging the second-most yardage.
Johnson was in the mix for the head coaching jobs with the Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks last offseason before pulling out of the searches late.
The Bears fired Matt Eberflus after their Week 13 loss to the Lions on Thanksgiving. Chicago has lost three games since, pushing its losing streak to nine.
