Carroll: Raiders will lean on Brady as much as possible in QB search
The Las Vegas Raiders are in search of a franchise quarterback as they get set to embark on a major rebuild, but Pete Carroll is confident one man can help them find their next star passer: minority owner Tom Brady.
"We happen to have the greatest of all time to help us ... we're going to lean on Tom as much as we possibly can for his insights because nobody has the insights that he has," the new Raiders head coach said in his introductory press conference, according to Pro Football Talk's Myles Simmons.
Carroll added: "To think about how fortunate we are to have Tom Brady with us ... it's just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Aiden O'Connell and Gardner Minshew split passer duties for Las Vegas last season. Both struggled through injuries and inconsistency as the Raiders finished 26th in average total yards per game.
Brady became a minority owner of the Raiders in October. Carroll said Brady was "integrally" involved in the hiring process.
Carroll was the Seattle Seahawks' head coach from 2010-2023, helping lead the franchise to its only Super Bowl win.
The Raiders also introduced John Spytek as their new general manager Monday. Spytek was a senior personnel member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Brady was their quarterback.
Las Vegas went 4-13 last season. The Raiders have the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
