Cardinals make McBride highest-paid TE ever with 4-year, $76M extension

The Arizona Cardinals rewarded Trey McBride with a four-year, $76-million extension that makes him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McBride is now signed through the 2029 season. His new $19-million average annual salary tops the tight end position by a significant margin. Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce ranks second at $17.1 million.

"Worth every penny," Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray wrote on social media while reacting to McBride's extension.

McBride earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2024 after setting career highs with 111 catches and 1,146 yards. He also scored two touchdowns.

The 25-year-old entered the NFL as a second-round pick in 2022 and had already flashed his potential after posting an 81-825-3 stat line in '23.

The Colorado State product's 221 career receptions are the most ever by a tight end in his first three NFL seasons.
