Report: Texans to sign Chubb if Monday physical goes well
The Houston Texans are expected to sign running back Nick Chubb if a physical with the team goes well Monday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Chubb appeared in eight games with the Cleveland Browns last season after returning from a knee injury that included meniscus, ACL, and MCL tears that he sustained during the 2023 campaign. He rushed for 332 yards and three scores on 102 carries in 2024.
The 29-year-old ranks seventh among active players with 6,843 rushing yards. He's also scored 56 total touchdowns and been named to four Pro Bowls.
Chubb, if he signs with the club, would be expected to provide depth behind lead runner Joe Mixon. Houston also has running backs Dameon Pierce and 2025 fourth-round pick Woody Marks, among others on the roster.
Mixon led the Texans with 1,106 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground last season. He added 309 yards and another score on 36 receptions en route to the second Pro Bowl nod of his career.
