Raiders' Jeanty after strong showing vs. 49ers: 'I've arrived'
It took only two preseason games for Las Vegas Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty to show why he was one of the top running back prospects in recent memory.
The sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Jeanty totaled 33 yards and a touchdown on seven carries during Saturday's 22-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. One of those carries saw the rookie emphatically run over 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir.
"I've arrived, and it's time to keep going and make plays for this team," Jeanty said Saturday, according to ESPN's Ryan McFadden.
Those in attendance were in awe of Jeanty's physicality, with head coach Pete Carroll saying the running back "looked tough as hell" and quarterback Geno Smith adding that he's "going to be a special player."
"It fires me up just seeing the way (Jeanty) runs," Smith mentioned. "He's running through people, and he's not shying away from contact."
The Raiders' final preseason game is against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 23.
